Travels of Today

I told you I would be back!! Well we went to Lowe's and bought some paint, the end. Okay, we did do some shopping, new light fixtures for the bathroom, new towel racks and such, and I was so excited about getting our bathroom remodel underway. It has only taken us seven years to put the vision into reality. But we forgot the 10% off coupon. Don't you hate when you do that? So, we just bought the paint. I had them mix a special color for the basement for me! Vandy doesn't know what I am doing quite yet, but he will love it when I am done. I can't wait to share my creation with you.

Well, then we went to Yellow Springs and picked up two extra bottles of wine besides the two from my club. Let me tell you what we got ... Il Nero Di Casanova 2006 Sangiovese, which is an Italian Red and a Reymos sparking wine. I had to get my favorite 2007 Anne Amie, Pinot Gris. I am telling you I can't live without it!! Then, after Vandy read one of Mary Kay's poetic descriptions of Remelluri 2001 Rioja (product of Spain) , he had to have it!! I talked to Mary Kay for a bit, she is just so charming. Vandy told her he was a fan of Andre. OH MY GOSH ... I had to clear the air, because I think she almost believed him.
I was a tad bit hungry so we popped over to the Winds Cafe and enjoyed a leisurely lunch with some delicious hot tea. We had a wonderful time and now I am home getting excited about my class tomorrow and starting that painting project on Monday!
Have a great weekend ya'll!!!

Saturday morning adventure

Another great morning ... Dad is getting his breathing treatment and I am making him his Nestle Hot Cocoa and f course chatting with ya'll. Vandy and I are heading to Yellow Springs this morning for some fresh pastries and coffee, okay, I know I don't drink coffee, but fresh pastries and diet coke just doesn't sound very good. And then we are off to the Wine Cellar to pick up a bottle of red, a bottle of white. My friend Tonya bought me a six month membership at Christmas and I am jazzed about trying new wines. This picture is of the Winds Cafe a couple years ago where I was showcased as the local monthly artist. Do you see Vandy hamming it up in the window?

After our Yellow Springs adventure, we are off to Lowes. What person doesn't love a trip to Lowes? The dreaminess of walking down the possibilities of a gourmet kitchen in any color, size or shape ... picturing yourself chopping vegetables for a chef salad, making a spicy rub for a rack of lamb and ohhh the the delicious creation of pastries! OKAY, stop right there, I can't go to Lowe's, it will depress me, won't it? Well I can, I'll just go to the bathroom section and lazily travel down the fixture isle and convince myself kitchens aren't important, bathrooms are ... spa tub, dual sinks with pretty brushed copper faucets, separate shower, tile floors STOPPPPPPP okay I can't go .. have I mentioned I need both a new kitchen and two new bathrooms?

Alright, I'll pop back in a bit later to tell you all about my adventure.

Some mornings I just want to crawl back into bed for just a couple more minutes, but it really seems to put my day out of whack! Well, I accomplished a few more moves to the storage unit and am feeling pretty good about it. What did you do yesterday?

Today I am going to finish a mini book I am making and will post pictures later about it as well as the cards for my mega card class! So, I best be getting off here. I'll be back this afternoon .. it should be soooo stinking cute!

Storage Units are a Must for Blended Families

Good morning all! I am truly running a bit late, hard to believe at 7:30 am, but I am! So what's on your agenda today?

My agenda? I have had a thorn in my side the past couple years and I have finally taken the bull by the horns and yep, you guessed it, I got a storage unit. LOL Our number three child is in the Peace Corp in Africa and we are the storage unit. Oh, it's not just for her things, we are the storage unit for things from my folks house, Vandy's (that's my husband) mom's house and the sundries (in this case LARGE items) of our travels over the past years. We built a shed last year, but it is packed (three lawn mowers and only one person that truly mows, I am so talented lol) and our garage is my Dad's apartment, so that is how I justify the unit! Anyway, somewhere I read ... go through it all and donate, sell, throw away, which I am more than willing to do, and honestly WE will once Rachel comes home. I made the promise to myself and that one I intended to keep. So in the meantime, STORAGE UNIT .. everyone should have one. I might even just go hang out there since it is so nice and clean and ORGANIZED!! Everyone locally should check out Whittier Woods for apartments and garages! If I can't get our house the way I want it, I might just rent it out and live at Whittier. Laugh, go ahead, but I am seriously considering it! Well, time for me to take a load! Enjoy your day!
