The Wine Shop

It's late. It is so late and I am so exhausted. Did you know if you breathe insulation and plaster dust for three days you are susceptible to SEVERE nose bleeds? UGHH! Anyway, it's so close to completion I can't hardly stand it!!!!!! I had to order the fabric for the ceiling, so I am waiting on that and the perfect bistro table for the bar stools. What do you think? Vandy loved his surprise!

I will post a few more pictures tomorrow of the rich rich fabric on the two other walls ... just too tired right now! I hope you all had a great day!

Thursday thaw?

Good morning ladies, no thaw in sight today, but lots of progress on the basement project. Have you ever done Venetian plaster on block basement walls? I have to tell you, it has been a lot of fun, but typing right now .. each little finger hitting each key is KILLING me!! Ouchie, ouchie ouchie ... don't ask me why ... lol .... but if you want to do it, it's a blast and I will post the pictures in a couple house of the finished wall.

So this is bittersweet I didn't get around to trimming back and it looks so cool with the twigs and berries covered in the snow. Bittersweet is such a fantastic vine to make autumn wreaths with or just a vase of twigs. If you would like to rob from this arbor, please feel free.

Wright Patterson was closed yesterday, so you know the roads were bad!!!!!! Vandy shoveled and shoveled, went to work for a few hours (yep, to WPAFB) and then went and checked on my girlfriend Debi to make sure her and the girls were shoveled out. He is SUCH a nice guy!! Debi must have been working those girls, the driveway was clean and Vandy reported "she got out". lol So if they don't have school today, she's ALL mine to help me with the "project".

So this is the final snow picture today. That is our swimming pool, uncovered. Vandy is making us a skating rink!!! Isn't that exciting? We can hardly wait. Oh okay, I am kidding. We had a
leak somewhere and our pool guy couldn't find it before the weather turned cold. We have this high end cover, but the weight of the snow would make it worthless, so be careful if you come over and decide to go into the backyard in the dark and forget we have a giant whole back there! lol

There sure is a lot of snow out there. I love it. I am not ready for winter to be over yet. I think we have eight more weeks of winter. WOOOHOOOO and you know what snow means ...... great slopes! So Addie will be chomping at the bit to go snowboarding today. School cancelled again!! Oh well, perhaps her Daddy will take her so I don't have to worry about her driving up there.

Snow Falls

Two hour delay this morning, so Addie gets to sleep in. My neighbor Jim is going to run my electrical for the lighting in the basement this morning and I am so excited about it. He is also going to hang these really HUGE vintage lanterns for me and I would share a picture of them with you, BUT they are hiding over at Katie's house. So, when she comes over, I'll snap a picture and post them later this afternoon!

I do hope the weather lets up enough for me to go to my doctor's appointment today. We, it has finally hit, and I have become my mother's daughter. There is no other way to say it, menopause sucks! I mean it, it's making me more OCD, grouchy, snappy, SWEATING for no apparent reason and out of control. It's just nuts. The blessing is, modern medicine and I can't wait for it!!!! As I am sure some of my favorite people are excited about "getting be back". lol Alright, short and sweet this morning, off I go to start cleaning the hoosier. Talk to you later.

Raining Days and Mondays Always Get Me Down

Well, it is Monday, it's not raining, and I am not down. I just love that Carpenter's Song! So today is the start of the big basement makeover. One of my best friends, Katie, is coming over to give her input and help me before she heads over to Tonya's to have a little makeover herself. I am so excited about this basement project! Vandy is going to be soooo stoked! Actually, it's Katie's fault that I am addicted to room makeovers. Last year we made over Addie's bedroom and it was sooooo awesome! It was her sweet sixteen birthday surprise! Oh wait, egads, she is seventeen now!

So here are some of my cards! They are so cute!! I am going to have to start using my "big" camera again, they just do such a better job taking pictures of "stuff". LOL They are still cute though! I hope to have that mini book done later today and if I do, I'll get it posted as well. I might even try a slideshow. wooohoooooo It's got to be easier than braving the thirteen degrees outside this morning! So, I haven't heard what ya'll have been up to, drop me a line, details gals, details!

Sunday Morning

Good morning! Today is going to be such a busy day for me, so I decided to pop a little note to you first thing before my day gets too busy. We are hosting a scrapbook baby shower at livelovescrap today and it is just the coolest thing. For seven dollars each person gets to do a 12x12 layout for the expecting Mom! The ladies take care of the food, drinks and such. We pretty much have everything ready for them to create some super sweet pages and all they need to bring is their basic kit. The best part, the Mom walks out with a lot of completed pages because we all know the best laid intentions ... well you know!

And then after the party, I'll rush home to fix dinner and then straight to bible study with my girlfriends. We are studying the book of Esther for nine weeks. Beth Moore has these wonderful videos and books and it's just nice to relate life and God and stories with her and my friends!

Okay, well I have a few "chores" around the house to do before the house wakes! Have a great Sunday everyone!!!
